About Me:
My name is Mason Kurek, and I am a fourth-year mechanical engineering student with a strong interest in aerospace and mechanical systems. My work is driven by a desire to undertake ambitious, forward-thinking projects that push technical boundaries while delivering meaningful outcomes.
Complementing this, I am pursuing a minor in business, which gives me a broader perspective on strategy, marketing, and organizational management. This dual background allows me to approach engineering not only as a technical challenge but also as a driver of long-term business value. My overarching goal is to help Canadian industries grow into global leaders, elevating their competitiveness through innovation and collaboration.
My interests span robotic automation, SATCOM and satellite technologies, and the application of AI in engineering. These are fields I believe will shape the future of my generation. To actively engage with these interests, I contribute to the UVic Rocketry and Formula 1 Clubs, where I focus on structures and dynamics. These experiences have sharpened my technical skills and taught me how to translate theory into effective real-world solutions.
Peers and colleagues often describe me as driven, innovative, and inclusive. I bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to group work, creating environments where people feel encouraged to take calculated risks and explore bold new ideas. My aim in every project is not only to deliver strong results but also to leave a lasting impact on the teams and organizations I work with.
